Sydney in the hot seat

  • What is the office's favorite watering hole? There’s no better way to finish the work week than by paying a visit to The Newport for a relaxing wind down.
  • What is the office's anthem? Easily ‘Good Times’ by Aussie rock legends INXS and Jimmy Barnes. Hear it once and you’ll be singing it all day long.
  • What is the greatest historical event that took place in your city? Sydney-siders are proud of their city and loved sharing a piece of it on the world stage for the 2000 Olympics.

24

Hours in Sydney

When it comes to icons, our city has plenty. But to get to know the real Sydney in just 24 hours, we suggest looking beyond the architectural marvels of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House.

Ask any Sydney local and they’ll tell you that the city’s real centerpiece is the harbour, followed closely by a choice of breathtaking beaches – and we’re not just talking about Bondi Beach.

Many of our city’s attractions are on or around the harbour, including Taronga Zoo. So, start your day here if you have ever wanted to hold a Koala or get close enough to pat a Kangaroo. Next, pay a visit to Manly Beach, which is a ‘must do’ for some casual beach-side culture. To get there, catch a Manly Ferry from the city for a magical 30-minute ride that will give you a sensational view of our beautiful city from all angles. Once there you can take a stroll along Manly Corso, catch a surf lesson and curb your appetite with some well-deserved fish-‘n-chips on the beach.

For an afternoon treat, relax at Hugo’s on Manly Wharf while enjoying great cocktails and a killer harbour view.

For dinner, indulge in some of Sydney’s famous fresh seafood. After all, it’s right here on our doorstep. Whether you want to ‘throw a shrimp on the Barbie,’ sit down to a dozen oysters or try some Barramundi, you’ll find plenty of options. We suggest paying a visit to Doyle’s at Watson’s Bay or even Sydney Fish Markets for the quintessential Sydney seafood experience.

After dinner, finish the night at Sydney’s original settlement, The Rocks. A popular tourist destination, The Rocks is a precinct for shopping, food and entertainment, and is home to Sydney’s Museum of Contemporary Art. The experience is even better at night when The Rocks turns into a hive of activity.

Of course, there is still so much more to see and do in Sydney – and 24 hours simply isn’t long enough. From experiencing our flora and fauna with a national park bushwalk and bike riding in Centennial Park, to whale watching or parasailing on the harbour, our energetic city has something for everyone.
