Lyon

11 place Antonin Poncet

Set around two hills and two rivers, Lyon is France's third-largest city. This gateway to the Alps is known for its Roman ruins, Renaissance-era architecture and unique gastronomy. Economically, Lyon is a major centre for banking, as well as for the chemical, pharmaceutical and biotech industries. It has a significant software industry and, in recent years, has fostered a growing local start-up sector. Our bilingual team helps clients such as: CornerJob, Bobcat and Firce Capital, meet their communications objectives at home and abroad, while simultaneously connecting global brands with audiences in the region. Whether launching a new product, navigating issues and legislation or building and managing reputations, our team leverages deep expertise in consumer marketing, corporate communications, public affairs, and digital and crisis management to achieve results that have business impact.

Lyon in the hot seat

Hours in Lyon

Start your day with an unforgettable breakfast in the beautiful old brasserie Les Negociants, as this is the best place to meet journalists and politicians. Built in 1864 and situated right in the centre of Lyon, Le Grand Café des Négociants still retains all of its lavish nineteenth-century style and luxurious decor. Choose from a generous yet affordable breakfast menu, including delicious pastries, warm French bread and hot drinks. Pass the hours with a coffee, reading the newspapers and soaking up the warm and welcoming atmosphere of this unique, historical venue.

Next, head over to the main modern district Lyon Confluence where you can walk along the Saone River. There you will discover the new Confluence Museum designed by famous Austrian architect Coop Himmelblau. This science centre and anthropology museum is located at the southern tip of the Presqu'île at the confluence of the Rhône and the Saône.

For lunch, go to Selcius, which is near the museum on the coast of the Saone. Make sure to sit on the terrace, where you can admire the bar and cellar’s elegant brasserie look and enjoy contemporary cuisine.

In Lyon, good food and the freshest local produce are plentiful. Accordingly, you will find a variety of culinary-focused stores and farmers’ markets. Sweets, wines or cheeses, you will be delighted by the scents, textures and flavors of all the delightful products. You’ll find the best in Croix-Rousse Market or Saint-Antoine Market. But the best place to visit is Les Halles Paul Bocuse, Lyon's famed indoor food market, which has nearly five dozen stalls selling countless gourmet delights. Pick up a round of runny Saint-Marcellin from legendary cheesemonger Mère Richard, and a knobbly Jésus de Lyon from Charcuterie Sibilia. If you visit on a Sunday, join the local families who congregate for shellfish and white wine brunches.

For the finest dinner in Lyon, experience  the Christian Têtedoie restaurant at the top of Fourviere Hill, where you will have a beautiful view of the city while enjoying very creative cuisine. The cellar is substantial and the cocktail bar is the place to be. Find a more relaxed atmosphere on La Terrasse, serving fine Mediterranean flavours and la plancha (grilled) cuisine.
